ABOUT US

In July of 2002, the Alabama Adoption Coalition was organized by a group of twenty-six adoption professionals and individuals. Meeting to discuss our concerns regarding adoption practice across the state, we emerged with a belief that by working together we can accomplish much to promote adoption while also curbing the tide of unethical practices that often leave birth mothers and adoptive families disillusioned and hurting.

MISSION STATEMENT

To provide a forum where adoption professionals of licensed child-placing agencies in Alabama can come together as a goal-oriented and united group to accomplish the following:

1. To promote, educate, and advocate adoption as a positive option;
2. To promote best practice adoption standards;
3. To monitor and provide information to our members and the general public on all issues related to adoption; and
4. To influence and collaborate with the legislative process.
